I have been specialising in this particular field for several years, working with clients with a huge array of fears and phobias and helping them to achieve life changing results in a matter of weeks.


Many of my clients come to me thinking that they will suffer for the rest of their lives and have to spend their whole life avoiding the trigger of their fear. 


For most people with a severe fear or phobia, anxiety plays a large role within it. We often see the phobia worsen in times of excessive stress and anxiety. However, in a small percentage of people this doesn’t seem to be the case. 


Either way my style of therapy is fast and effective. 


If there is a large amount of general anxiety with symptoms such as sleep issues I will often suggest a couple of extra sessions at the start of your treatment to help with this.

The first thing to do is to book in for your initial consultation. If you have any questions you would like to ask before you do this please contact me by phone or email.


Your initial consultation will last for approximately an hour and will give me the chance to get to know you and your fear. I’ll explain about how the whole process works and you will have plenty of time to ask any questions you have before we finish the session with a taster of relaxation hypnosis to get you used to the process.


During the initial consultation I will advise how many further sessions I recommend for you to have to best suit you. If it’s a clear cut phobia then three more sessions is normally all it takes. If it’s more complex with surrounding anxiety/sleep issues etc then 5 additional sessions is more likely to be effective. 


Hypnosis is a changed state of awareness and increased relaxation that allows for improved focus and concentration. When done in a therapeutic setting we call it Hypnotherapy. 


 During hypnosis, most people feel calm and relaxed. Hypnosis typically makes people more open to suggestions about behaviour changes. 


In the context of phobia treatment it works in two ways. Firstly it is a form of exposure therapy. Exposure therapy has been proven to be the most effective way to cure phobias. Using hypnotherapy we have the luxury of being able to expose you to your trigger in your mind, whilst you stay comfortable in a safe environment. 


And secondly, we use the power of hypnosis to rewrite the script that has lived in the subconscious part of your mind since your phobia first started. 


The combination is incredibly powerful and has enabled me to achieve very high success rates over the years I have been practising. 


You will get comfortable, close your eyes and listen to the words I speak. You will simply be resting and enjoying the heightened levels of relaxation. You will remain in control of all your faculties and could, if you wanted to, get up at anytime. 


Hypnotherapy is just as effective online. In fact I used to exclusively work with clients online for over 2 years from 2020 - 22. Now that I work with both online and face to face clients there isn’t a difference in the outcomes, both are equally successful. 


Lots of people prefer to come and see me in person whereas some prefer to see me from the comfort of their own home. If you’re extremely busy and can only free up an hour in your lunch break then that can work too. As long as you can be suitably relaxed and comfortable and not be disturbed you could be anywhere in the world.



It would seem that hypnotherapy can help with any number of issues. I have personally helped people overcome anxiety, depression, sleep issues, self esteem and confidence issues, and more recently I have focused in on fears and phobias.

I have a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy which I gained from the Clifton Practice in Bristol and I hold an enhanced DBS.

This was my first time doing Hypnotherapy i used it to work on my fear of speaking in public. I worked with Carl over 6 sessions and saw a complete transformation in my relationship to speaking to a large group of people.


Went to see Carl with my very bizarre phobia of not being able to get in the sea because of a fear of fish! I had 4 sessions and I’ve just come back from a holiday in Kefalonia with my grandchildren where I played with them in the sea every day and swam off of the back of a boat. Carl made me feel very relaxed and comfortable and I would highly recommend his services, which clearly work. Can’t thank him enough.


Carl has such a calming presence. He makes you feel relaxed and welcome. I’ve been having 1 to 1 sessions of breathing therapy and it’s made a huge difference.
