What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a combination of two key methods. Firstly, we use simple psychotherapeutic techniques to help you come up with ways to improve your wellbeing. And secondly, we utilise hypnotic trance to help instil in you a new confidence and belief in yourself.


In combination, this creates a unique and incredibly effective therapy as we are able to get the conscious and subconscious minds working together to elicit positive change. 

In Solution Focused Hypnotherapy there is no need to dwell on or even discuss previous issues, trauma or negative events in your life that may have contributed to the reason you're seeking help. We look to the future and imagine a reality that you want to have, and will have. This, alongside the hypnosis work that we do together will give you all the tools you need to overcome whatever it is you feel is holding you back. 


Have you ever experienced driving along a route you've driven many times before only to find yourself 5 miles down the road with no conscious memory of how you got there? Or perhaps you've been so engrossed in a book or a film that an hour goes by and it feels like a few minutes? Well, they are forms of trance. 

It's far more ordinary than most people realise. Every one of us goes into this state several times a day without even realising it. 

The only difference during our sessions is that I will be purposefully guiding you into a state of trance which will help you in a number of ways. Firstly, it gives you the opportunity to completely unwind and relax, this can be incredibly beneficial if you're having difficulty sleeping or relaxing in general. And also in this state your subconscious mind is far more receptive to the positive, confidence building suggestions we give it to produce effective and long lasting change.
